SENIOR PRINCIPAL PLANNER

Michael S. Manett, Principal Planner of the firm, received his Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo in 1974 and has fifty years of professional planning experience in urban and regional planning having worked in both private and public practice in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as over forty-five years of practicing as a freelance photographer. Mr. Manett is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners/Ontario Professional Planners Institute and is a Registered Professional Planner. Mr. Manett is the Past Chair of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, a Past President of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and a past Member of the Professional Aerial Photographers Association (PAPA) and a member of the Urban Land Institute and a member of Reena and Batay Reena Board of Directors. He has extensive experience in preparing planning arguments and testimony and has appeared regularly at OMB/LPAT/OLT, TLAB and court as an expert planning witness (in 2024 surpassing 500 appearances).

Mr. Manett’s broad range of knowledge and practical applications gained through work as a planning consultant, and for Provincial and Municipal planning agencies, provides the firm with the ability to deliver expert advice and assistance to clients in a timely and cost-effective manner. On major projects he has acted in the role of lead consultant and project manager, responsible for the overall co-ordination of activities.
